Joel Someillan

Joel Someillan is a Grammy-winning, Emmy-nominated music producer, composer, and sound designer. Over the last 25 years he has worked with the top Latin artists in the industry; Gloria Estefan, Jon Secada, Thalia, Chayanne, Obie Bermudez, Carlos Ponce, etc...and designed sound for prime-time television and numerous indie films. Someillan has earned numerous Gold and Platinum album credits along with two Latin Grammy awards; the first in 2001 for Best Engineered Album (Thalia’s Arrasando), and the second in 2005 for Best Pop Vocal Album (Obie Bermudez’ Todo El Año). The following year another of Someillan’s productions was Grammy-nominated for Album Of The Year (Chayanne’s Cautivo). Based in Miami, FL, Someillan continues to write and produce for artists, film, television, and stage. His extensive catalog of animation scoring and children's music for Nickelodeon, Dreamworks, and Sesame Street...among others...has earned him industry accolades including an Emmy nomination in 2012 for the song "Todos Juntos" featuring Shakira. Most recently he has been focused on post-production audio for film and television with duties as sound designer, composer, music supervision, and final mix.

Partnership with Audible®

Someillan Productions has partnered with Audible to produce the first-ever Spanish-language audiobooks of the entire Harry Potter series. Carlos Ponce is narrating the series for which he has developed over 300 different voice characterizations! Other Audible selections have also been produced by Someillan Productions including El Secreto De Selena narrated by author Maria Celeste.

Colada

Handling all music, sound design, sound editing and surround mixing for this impactful short film about the drama that unfolds one afternoon in a Miami Cuban cafe. Honored with 1st Runner Up Award at the 2026 Miami Film Festival. Superbly written and directed by Carmen Pelaez.
